Botanical Name: Jasminum sambac Jasmine sambac is considered an absolute because the oil is extracted using solvents. Jasmine sambac is a thick, dark brown consistency with an aroma that is strong, yet sweet, almost heavenly. It is no wonder that for thousands of years it has been considered an aphrodisiac, anti-depressant and a sedative. Due to the fact that absolutes are highly concentrated, it is recommended that they be diluted before evaluating in order to assess their more subtle notes.
